Andrew Sullivan posted this piece earlier on his blog and I thought it was interested. While there are things that President Obama stated during the campaign that gave me serious pause. So I am not quite ready to identify Obama as a conservative/libertarian/classical liberal yet, but I agree with Sullivan that there are things to admire in the man, including some of his cabinet and staff selections.
However, I do agree completely with the position that George W. Bush was not the flag bearer for the conservative movement. He betrayed years of fiscal conservativeness, small government, civil liberties, and non-interventionist military strategy that I thought were major planks of the Republican Platform. I was wrong and I will not be deceived again.
